Welcome to the Website of the Theoretical Particle Physics Group in Siegen
Particle physics deals with some of the most fundamental
questions related to the structure of matter at smallest
distances, pushing the limits of our knowledge to new
frontiers. We are particularly interested in the theoretical
interpretation of the results obtained from experiments at the
Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN and the flavour physics
experiment BELLE II at KEK (Tsukuba/Japan).
Our group is renowned for very precise predictions for collider
and flavour observables within the Standard Model of particle
physics based on perturbative and non-perturbative quantum
field theoretical methods. Comparing the outcome of our
calculations with experimental results yields insights into
potential extensions of the standard model that might be able
to answer open questions like the origin of the
matter-antimatter asymmetry in the Universe or the nature of
dark matter.
